As a member of the Cal Poly Triathlon Team, I thought that our online workout calendar could be improved significantly to be easier to use and easier to read. So, starting from scratch, I designed and developed a new site using the Django framework.
The workout calendar is the most important feature and the one that I implemented first. It allows registered team members to see the team’s workouts for the week including location, time, and sport. Additionally, users can see the actual workout details, broken down by skill level.
I also created a member management workflow that greatly simplifies the administration of users and permissions. When a new user signs up, site admins automatically get an email that allows them to mark the new user as a team member, coach, officer, or spam account.
(The site is currently under development. Some parts of the site are incomplete. Other parts are available to members only.)
